The warranty

Five-year warranty on everything I install

What it covers, in plain language
What I do

Residential and light commercial electrical

If it carries current in a house, a shop or a small commercial space, it is work I take. If it is genuinely outside what one truck should handle, I will tell you that instead of learning on your job.

Panel upgrades & service changes

100A to 200A upgrades, meter bases, subpanels and full service changes. Permitted and inspected, power back on the same day in most cases.

EV charger installation

Level 2 chargers for Tesla, Ford, Rivian and everything else. Dedicated 240V circuit, load calculation done properly so your panel can actually carry it.

Troubleshooting & repair

Breakers that trip for no reason, outlets that quit, lights that flicker, burning smells. Found and fixed, with an explanation of what actually went wrong.

Remodels & additions

Kitchens, basements, garages, shops and additions. Rough-in through trim, coordinated with your GC or straight with you.

Lighting & fixtures

Recessed cans, under-cabinet, landscape and yard lighting, ceiling fans, and anything that has been hanging by a wire nut since 1987.

Hot tubs, spas & generators

GFCI-protected spa circuits and disconnects, plus interlock kits and generator hookups so you are not running cords through a window in January.

Straight numbers

What common jobs actually cost

Real starting figures, not a form that makes you wait for a callback to find out. Your exact price comes in writing after I see the panel.

Work it out before you call

Four calculators that answer the questions I get asked most. They run in your browser, nothing is sent anywhere, and no email is required to see the answer.

Can my panel handle it?

A NEC 220.82 style load estimate. Find out whether your existing service can carry an EV charger or a hot tub before you buy one.

Fill it in above.

Estimate only. A real load calculation needs eyes on the panel, the meter and the existing circuits.

EV charging cost

What it actually costs to charge at home in Utah, and what you stop spending at the pump.

Fill it in above.

Assumes about 90% charging efficiency. Change the rate to match your Rocky Mountain Power bill.

Recessed lighting layout

How many cans a room needs and how far apart they go, using the standard spacing rule.

Fill it in above.

Spacing rule of thumb is ceiling height divided by two. Beams, cabinets and vaults change it.

Panel upgrade estimate

A realistic range for a service change in Weber or Davis county, before I ever see it.

Fill it in above.

A budget range, not a quote. Utility coordination, permit fees and what is behind the drywall move the number.

Why Griz

Four things that are actually different

A licensed electrician does the work

The person who bids the job is the person who wires it. Not a helper with a phone number.

The price is the price

A written number before anything gets touched. It changes only if you ask for something different.

Permits pulled, inspections passed

Every job that needs one gets one, and the passed inspection comes to you in writing.

One person, start to finish

No rotating crew and no subcontractors. The same person from estimate to final inspection.

Where I work

Weber and Davis county, and the canyon

Questions

The things people ask before they call

Do you pull permits?

Yes, on anything that requires one — service changes, panel upgrades, new circuits, remodels. An electrician who offers to skip the permit is offering to make the problem yours when you sell the house or file a claim.

What does a panel upgrade cost?

Most 200A residential service changes in Weber and Davis county land between $1,850 and $3,400 depending on the meter base, the mast, the utility coordination and whether the panel location moves. You get the exact figure in writing before I start.

How fast can you get here?

Same day for anything without power. Usually within two business days for everything else. You get a text when I am on the way, not a four-hour window.

Are you licensed and insured?

Licensed electrician in the State of Utah and carrying general liability. License and certificate of insurance available on request, and they go on the estimate.

What does the five-year warranty cover?

My workmanship, for five years from the date of the invoice. If something I installed fails because of how I installed it, I come back and fix it at no charge. Fixtures, breakers and devices are covered by their manufacturer warranty. It covers the work you hired me for — not wiring, fixtures or equipment I did not sell and install. Full warranty terms are here.

Do you do commercial work?

Light commercial — tenant improvements, small retail, offices, shops. For large industrial or new commercial construction I will tell you honestly if it is outside what one truck should take on.

Ready when you are

Same day for no-power calls

If the lights are off, you go to the front of the line. That is not a marketing line, it is how the schedule is built.

You get a text when I am on the way

Not a four-hour window. A message with a time, so you are not sitting home guessing.
